For this tulip project, I’ve used different types of crepe paper: the extra fine 60 gr. and the 90 gr. as well, the heavy weight 160 gr. and 180 gr. I presented how to work with all these paper weights so you can choose the paper you like most, or the ones you have available. I didn’t use doublette but feel free to replace any of the paper category mentioned with it, if you wish to work fast and skip laminating. I prefer not to use it when making tulips because I need to make use of all my skills (laminating, coloring, etc.) You also need some good quality white glue, Tacky glue and hot glue with hot glue gun, floral wires in different gages, scissors, wire cutter and all the basic materials that every paper florist should have in the studio. For the coloring process I use acrylics and Pan Pastels. Each tulip has its specific color ingredients but you can also work with the paper just as it is, with no coloring intervention. You also need a few paintbrushes, art sponges and other useful utensils.
As long as Christine Paper Design exists and I can sustain the activity and the hosting cost. I will do my best to make that happen for a long time but my advice is, once you purchase the course make the best of it; download all the materials and try to learn as much as you can. Enjoy the process, take notes and make use of every detail I provide. This is a written course so, once you purchase it, you can download it to your computer so it belongs to you after that, with the requirement of respecting the Terms of Use.
Normally I would say that you need to have some experience with this craft but I had the chance to see some really great achievements made by beginners. I don’t believe in limits and labels so if you wish to learn, go for it! Keep in mind that you need to practice for a few times until you obtain the result you desire but this is as it should be. Also, if you are a beginner you will have the opportunity to learn many techniques all at once, some of which took me years to perfect.
All the written courses I create are meant to reveal every detail of my creative process. Each page is divided in 4 segments with images and text instructions. I do my best to explain the process and nothing is being held back. For the Paper Tulip Creative Process I’ve made more than 800 photos.
Making photos and sharing my thoughts in writing is my favorite way of expressing and I’ve always received positive feedback about my tutorials. I personally love the idea of working in my own rhythm, having these pages next to me and following the instructions but, in the same time, putting my creativity and skills to use. I think the written courses challenges you to be more in sync with your own creative self.
Yes! I offer a lot of support and advice during this process: I share information about what brands to buy, how to dilute the color, how to apply the color to the paper and many other useful painting tips that will make your process easier. During the course I also offer advice on how to work with the paper just as it is, without painting it.
